
ABOUT ARIANA
Ariana Simonelli, M.S., is a registered Psychology Associate and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in clinical psychology at Loyola University Maryland. She received her B.A. from Boston University in psychology and English. Ariana currently specializes in providing individual and group therapeutic services for children experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges, specifically anxiety and depression, in addition to conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations. She has extensive experience with providing family therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, play therapy, and social skills training in both individual and group settings. She previously worked with children with selective mutism, specific phobias, and other anxiety disorders at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, including participation in Brave Bunch, an intensive group treatment program for children with selective mutism. Ariana is currently researching clinical psychologists’ knowledge in identifying, assessing, and treating selective mutism to help inform training directions and improve quality of care for children with selective mutism in the future.
